Freedom Community Clinic (FCC), founded in 2019, is a holistic healing collective based in Oakland, California that bridges ancestral, Indigenous, and modern medicine through land-based programs, community care, and integrative wellness. We provide “Whole-Person Healing to the People” by delivering care directly to under-resourced communities where they gather and celebrate.
FCC honors the intersection of mind, body, and spirit alongside community healing and social justice, prioritizing the care of Black, Brown, Indigenous, and immigrant communities with services provided at little to no cost. Our whole-person care is rooted in disease-focused integrative medical and holistic health services.

future funding plus mid-year performance reviews & evaluations

Compensation: $1,250 every two weeks (average of 15-20 hours/week)

community-centered programming. This role is ideal for someone passionate about land
stewardship, herbalism, community healing, and working collaboratively in a values-aligned
environment. You will work closely with the Farm Manager and community partners to maintain the
land, support seasonal programming, and ensure the farm remains a vibrant, welcoming, and
healing space for all.
Position Summary
The Farm & Land Program Co-Coordinator will support the daily and weekly care of the Ancestral
Healing Farm and be present for all programs held on the land. This role ensures the farm remains
vibrant, well-tended, and welcoming for community gatherings, healing workshops, and seasonal
programming. You will steward our medicinal herbs, pollinator gardens, and farm infrastructure
while supporting volunteers and facilitating community workdays.
This position is ideal for someone experienced in land stewardship, passionate about ancestral
plant knowledge, and comfortable balancing independent tasks with community-centered
leadership. You will work closely with our other Farm & Land Program Co-Coordinator to maintain
alignment, share responsibilities, and collaboratively guide the growth of the farm.Your key responsibilities include:
Land Management
● Maintain and monitor the farm, including paths, garden beds, and the apiary area
● Create annual planting plans for three-season growing cycles
● Tend to the land weekly: watering, weeding, planting, harvesting, composting, and pest
management
● Maintain and improve farm infrastructure (e.g., irrigation systems, greenhouse, shade cloth,
compost system)
● Track land health and report maintenance or repair needs (e.g., fencing, irrigation, tools)
Volunteer Management
● Recruit, manage, and train volunteers, providing guidance, clear task structure, and support
during workdays
● Collaborate closely with the Farm & Land Program Co-Coordinator to coordinate weekly
tasks, progress updates, and upcoming workdays
Program & Community Support
● Be onsite for all programs held on the farm, supporting facilitation and logistics as needed
● Assist with community events such as skillshares, clubs, seasonal programs, and Open Farm
Fridays
● Participate in occasional in-person and/or virtual meetings as a representative of Freedom
Community Clinic
Administrative Support
● Provide periodic reporting and written narratives to support the growth and expansion of
FCC’s land-based programs
● Create a weekly work plan with supervisors and/or co-coordinators
● Participate in weekly team meetings with supervisors on Wednesdays, FCC town hall
meetings, and other meetings or training as necessary
● Assist with additional administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth program operations
Qualifications
● At least 3-4 years of relative experience in land stewardship, farming, gardening, or related
community-based land work
● Familiarity with regenerative, ancestral or Indigenous agricultural practices
● Experience with basic farm infrastructure (e.g., building projects, herbs and cultivation,
pollinator care, irrigation systems) is a plus
● Some experience in teaching and leading community workshops
● Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to connect with and support
others, whether in-person or virtual
● Experience managing people, including volunteers or small teams
● Commitment to collective healing, community care, and decolonial land practices
● Proficiency in Google Suite, Zoom, Zoom, Slack, event/registration systems or willingness to
learn
● Ability to work independently, outdoors and in physically demanding situations
● Ability to lift 50 lbs and readiness to work in all weather conditions outdoors
● Certifications such as First aid, CPR, herbicide/pesticide application, or similar are a plus
● Must be based in the Bay Area (East Bay preferred)
● Must have reliable transportation, including public transit
Preferred Qualities:
● Lived experience in or strong connection to BIPOC, immigrant, Indigenous, and/or LGBTQIA+
communities.
● Ability to hold compassionate, clear, and culturally rooted space for community members
● Strong relationship-building, communication skills, and the ability to maintain healthy,
professional boundaries with program participants and community membersSchedule & Compensation
Part-time: 15-20 hours/week (flexible schedule outside of scheduled volunteer days/programing
which will always occur during the weekend and weekly team meetings on Wednesdays (time tbd)
Compensation: $1,250 every two weeks (approximately. 15-20 hrs/week), totaling $2,500 per month

Job Title: Hourly Contractor Position, Bilingual Sanctuary Steward
Location: Freedom Community Clinic Fruitvale Community Healing Sanctuary (3134 International
Boulevard, Oakland, CA 94601)
Reports To: Natalie Silva, Facilities Manager
Employment Type: ~15-20 hours/week
● Tuesdays will be 5.5 paid hours including one (1) 30-minute unpaid lunch/non-compensated
meal period and one (1) 10-minute unpaid break
● Wednesdays will be 7.25 paid hours including one (1) 30-minute unpaid
lunch/non-compensated meal period and two (2) 10-minute unpaid breaks
Compensation: $18.00/hour

Contract Period: February 9, 2026-September 11, 2026 (May renew contract upon performance review
and organizational budget; Please note that there will be a mid-year review for this position with the

Position Summary
The Bilingual Sanctuary Steward at the Fruitvale Community Healing Sanctuary will play a key role
in creating a welcoming, supportive, and healing environment for all who visit. This role focuses on
community engagement by warmly greeting community members, sharing information about our
organization, upcoming programs and services, and helping visitors navigate the Sanctuary space.
The Steward will also guide guests in selecting herbs from our apothecary and offer basic
education around their uses.
This position offers hands-on experience in community engagement, public health outreach,
holistic wellness education, and health data management. Preference will be given to candidates
with herbalist knowledge or experience working with medicinal plants.Your key responsibilities include:
Community Engagement & Visitor Support
● Greet and welcome community members as they arrive at the Fruitvale Community Healing
Sanctuary
● Share information about the organization, our programs, events, and community resources
in person and over the phone
● Help community members navigate the space, select herbs and merchandise, and schedule
appointments online
● Support program sign-ups and provide information about upcoming offerings
● Provide on-site support during open hours — including workshops, events, and healing
sessions
Sanctuary Upkeep & Inventory Management
● Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall atmosphere of the Sanctuary to ensure it
remains a warm, healing, and accessible space
● Support restocking, tracking, and organizing apothecary supplies and sanctuary materials
● Assist with inventory systems by updating stock levels, noting low supplies, and preparing
items for programs and community use
● Support maintenance efforts and coordinate with contractors (e.g. cleaners, task rabbits,
security, etc.) as needed
Administrative & Operational Support
● Maintain organized front-desk materials and ensure a welcoming, resource-rich
environment
● Support general administrative tasks as needed to help operations run smoothly
● Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s)
Herbal Support (Preferred Skill)
● Use basic herbal knowledge to guide community members in selecting herbs and
apothecary items, including safe and ethical use of plant medicines given each person’s
medicine history and symptoms
Qualifications
● Lived experience in or strong connection to BIPOC, immigrant, Indigenous, and/or LGBTQIA+
communities
● Experience in community engagement, public-facing roles, or customer service
● Basic knowledge of herbal medicine, apothecary items, or holistic wellness is preferred
● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records
● Comfortable learning and using digital databases for data entry and inventory management● Proficiency with Google Suite; experience with Squarespace, Canva, Zoom, and other project
management tools is a plus
● Ability to work independently, take initiative, and support a small team
● Strong communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is required
